She grew up in suburban Philadelphia on a steady diet of Norma Klein, Judy Blume, and Judith Krantz novels, and worked for HarperCollins, Barnes&Noble.com, Vogue.com, and Romance at Random before becoming an author. She currently lives in Provincetown.
